Thin Duke heads to Louisville

Fresh off a big win, can No. 20 Duke find the energy to win on the road again when it takes on No. 18 Louisville at Noon ET on ESPN?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Louisville is favored at home this afternoon, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -6.5 points against the Blue Devils. The over/under total is currently listed at 144 points.

Duke (20-6, 9-4 ACC) is coming off a major win at UNC this past week, picking up a 74-73 victory. However, the win came at a price, as the Blue Devils lost guard Matt Jones to an ankle injury. He is listed as questionable, but he was unable to put weight on his foot after injuring himself early against UNC. Duke is on a five-game win streak, but the Blue Devils are playing with a thin bench and heading on the road to face Louisville (20-6, 9-4 ACC), which is coming off a 72-58 home win over Syracuse.

The Cardinals have been strong at home, winning and covering in three straight on their home turf. The Cardinals have also covered in three straight as a favorite. Louisville is putting up an impressive 80.4 points at home while allowing just 55.2 points per game on the road. Duke is giving up 72.7 points per game on the road, and with a small bench, that number isn’t likely to improve. The Blue Devils are just 4-6 ATS in their last 10 as is and an emotional letdown could be expected after the tough win over the Tar Heels.
