Tuesday NCAA Picks
Our team of writers and handicappers hand out their College Basketball picks and predictions for Tuesday, February 10.
Marquette at Villanova, 8:00PM ET
Last month’s victory over Villanova propelled Marquette to a lengthy run of success in Big East play. Another would prevent the Golden Eagles from a possible run in the wrong direction.
No. 10 Marquette won’t have it easy on the road Tuesday night in hoping to bounce back from its first conference loss while trying to snap the No. 13 Wildcats’ five-game winning streak.
Marquette’s run as the lone undefeated team in the Big East ended with a 57-56 loss at South Florida on Friday. It was the first road loss for the Golden Eagles (20-3, 9-1) and dropped them into a tie with Louisville for second in the Big East – one-half game behind Connecticut.
With Marquette riding a 12-game winning steak, facing struggling South Florida didn’t seem to present cause for concern. The Golden Eagles, though, shot 4-for-24 on 3-point attempts and 10-of-23 from the foul line.

Clemson at Boston College, 9:00PM ET
A visit to Boston College won’t make rebounding from a frustrating loss any easier for Clemson.
On Tuesday night, the No. 12 Tigers look for their third straight win against the ACC rival Eagles overall, but their first ever at Conte Forum.
Clemson (19-3, 5-3) appeared to be headed to a fourth consecutive victory Saturday, but blew a 19-point second-half lead and lost 65-61 to Florida State at home.
The defeat, which came three days after the Tigers routed then-No. 4 Duke 74-47 at home, dropped them to 3-3 since opening the season with 16 straight wins.

Virginia at Florida State, 7:00PM ET
Florida State cracked the Top 25 for the first time in more than a decade thanks in large part to a road win over a top-10 team. Now, avoiding a letdown should be the only concern with struggling Virginia coming to town.
The 25th-ranked Seminoles look to protect their ranking Tuesday night when they host the ACC rival Cavaliers, losers of seven straight.
Florida State (18-5, 5-3) rallied from a 19-point second-half deficit to stun then-No. 10 Clemson 65-61 on the road Saturday night. The Seminoles’ first win over a ranked conference opponent in more than two years propelled the team into the AP Top 25 for the first time since Jan. 19, 1998.
Florida State guard Toney Douglas was held to six points in the first half before scoring 17 after halftime, including 12 in the Seminoles’ 23-4 run over the final 8:30.
After the game, Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton stressed the importance of looking forward instead of just relishing the upset victory.
