College Basketball Predictions: LSU vs. Texas A&M 1/6/18

LSU vs. Texas A&M Pick

Can No. 11 Texas A&M get on track in the SEC when the Aggies play host to LSU today at 2:15PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Texas A&M is favored at home, as the Aggies are getting odds of -8.5 points against LSU. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 148.5 points. Today’s game takes place from Reed Arena in College Station, Texas and will air live on the SEC Network.

Texas A&M is off to an 0-2 start in SEC play following losses to Alabama and Florida. The Aggies are 11-3 overall and 5-6 against the spread. A&M is 1-4 ATS in its last five lined games. The Aggies are putting up 78.7 points per game this season while allowing 66.8 per contest. DJ Hogg has been suspended, but is eligible to return today. He has led the team with 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Tyler Davis is adding 13.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest.

LSU is coming off a 74-71 loss at home to Kentucky earlier this week, snapping a three-game win streak. The Tigers are now 9-4 on the season, 0-1 in the SEC and 6-4 against the spread. LSU is 1-2 ATS in its last three. The Tigers are averaging 83.6 points per game on offense while allowing 73.5 per game on defense. Tremont Waters is putting up 17.2 points and 6.2 assists per game to lead LSU while Duop Reath is averaging 12.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest.

Bet on LSU vs. Texas A&M

Texas A&M has won six of the last seven meetings with LSU, covering the spread in all six wins. The Aggies have gotten off to a slow start in SEC play, but that is due to not having Hogg available. Now that he is back in action, I expect A&M to return to form today. LSU had a strong effort against Kentucky, but the Tigers were at home. I don’t expect the same effort on the road. The public betting is backing LSU, but I will take the Aggies today.

CBB DAILY PREDICTION: TEXAS A&M -8.5
