College Basketball Predictions: Nebraska vs. Michigan State 12/3/17

Nebraska vs. Michigan St. Pick

Will No. 3 Michigan State cruise to another big win when it opens Big Ten play against Nebraska today at 4:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Michigan State is the heavy favorite today, as the Spartans are getting odds of -19 points against Nebraska. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 141.5 points. Today’s game takes place from the Jack Breslin Student Events Center in East Lansing, Michigan and will air live on FS1.

Michigan State has looked dominant in recent games, winning their last five by at least 18 points to improve to 6-1 on the season. MSU has covered the spread in four straight and is 5-2 against the spread this year. The Spartans are scoring 80.9 points per game on offense this year while allowing 63 points per game. Miles Bridgers is putting up 15 points and 6.7 rebounds per game to lead the team while Cassius Winston is adding 12.9 points and 7.4 assists per game.

Nebraska is riding a three-game winning streak, including a 71-62 win over Boston College earlier this week. The Cornhuskers are 6-2 on the season and 4-4 against the spread. Nebraska has failed to cover in its two games as an underdog. The Huskers are scoring 75.6 points per game this season while allowing 69.1 per contest. James Palmer Jr. is averaging 14.3 points and 4 rebounds per game to lead the Huskers while Isaac Copeland is adding 13 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.

Bet on Nebraska vs. Michigan State

MSU has won two straight meetings with Nebraska, covering the spread in the last two encounters. The Spartans have been rolling, but I do worry somewhat about them overlooking Nebraska given the top-level teams they have been playing. Still, MSU has the athletes to run right past Nebraska today. The Spartans have looked really strong on defense and if they are going to cover this big spread, defense will be the key. The public betting is strong with the Spartans and I am going to go with them to continue their hot streak.
