Three NCAA Underdogs to Bet Saturday
Saturday offers college basketball bettors a full slate of action. Here are three underdogs worth considering for your card today.
Villanova at Creighton, 2:30 p.m. ET, FOX
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Wildcats opened as 7.5-point road favorites but the line has dropped in favor of the Bluejays, who are now 6.5-point underdogs. The home team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while Creighton has covered the number in 10 of their last 14 games coming off a loss. The Bluejays are also an impressive 31-12 at the betting window in their last 43 games following a failed point-spread cover in their previous contest.
Saturday NCAA Prediction: Creighton +6.5
Bet Tonight’s College Hoops Action
Washington at California, 4:30 p.m. ET, Pac-12 Network
As of this writing, 77% of the betting tickets are on the Huskies to cover the spread and yet the number has dropped from Washington -4.5 down to California +3. The Huskies are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games versus the Golden Bears and have failed to cover the number in seven straight games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous contest.
Saturday NCAA Prediction: California +3
UAB at Middle Tennessee State, 7:00 p.m. ET
After opening as nearly a double-digit favorite, the Blue Raiders have gone from -9.5 down to -8. It would appear as though both public and sharp bettors are on the underdog, as UAB is receiving 61% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks. Middle Tennessee is finally ranked after racking up nine straight wins and 14 of its last 15. This is a good spot to fade the Blue Raiders and bet against an inflated line. After fighting all season to gain respect and earn a top-25 ranking, I look for MTSU to come out flat.
Saturday NCAA Prediction: UAB +8
