College Basketball Predictions: Wichita State vs. Temple 2/1/18

Wichita State vs. Temple Pick

Can No. 16 Wichita State stay in the AAC race when the Shockers go on the road to face Temple tonight at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Wichita State is favored on the road, as the Shockers are getting odds of -7 points against Temple. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 143.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and will air live on ESPN2.

After losing two straight, Wichita State has won back-to-back games, beating Central Florida and Tulsa at home. The Shockers are now 17-4 overall, 7-2 in the AAC and 9-10 against the spread. Wichita State is putting up 83.4 points per game this season while allowing 69 per contest. Landry Shamet is averaging 14.6 points and 5.2 assists per game to lead the team while Shaquille Morris is adding 12.8 points per game.

Temple is coming off an 85-57 win over Connecticut at home this past weekend. The Owls have won three of their last four. Temple is 11-10 overall, 3-6 in the AAC and 9-11-1 against the spread. The Owls are averaging 67.5 points per game on offense this season while allowing 68.4 per game on defense. Quinton Rose is leading Temple with 14.2 points per game while Shizz Alston Jr. is adding 13.1 points per contest.

Bet on Wichita State vs. Temple

Temple won the last meeting with Wichita State back in 2011. The Shockers haven’t been great on the road. They lost by 14 at Houston while failing to cover at Tulsa and Connecticut as a double-digit favorite. Temple has won its last two at home and also managed to give Cincinnati a tough game at home weeks ago. I think the Owls will be able to keep this competitive. The public betting is strong with Wichita State, but I will take my chances with the home underdog.
