College Basketball Predictions: Will Cincinnati cover at SMU? 2/11/18

Cincinnati vs. SMU Pick

Can No. 6 Cincinnati pick up another lopsided road win when the Bearcats take on SMU today at 4PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Cincinnati is favored on the road, as the Bearcats are getting odds of -8 points against SMU. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 128 points. Today’s game will take place from Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas and will air live on ESPN.

Cincinnati has won 15 straight games coming into today’s game following a 77-40 win over Central Florida this week. The Bearcats are 22-2 overall, 11-0 in the AAC and 12-8-1 against the spread. Cincinnati is putting up 76.5 points per game on offense while allowing 56.1 per contest. Jacob Evans is leading Cincinnati with 13.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while Gary Clark is adding 12.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest.

SMU is coming off a 67-58 loss at Houston this week. The Mustangs have lost two straight and three of their last four. SMU is 15-9 overall, 5-6 in the AAC and 7-10-2 against the spread. The Mustangs are averaging 72.6 points per game on offense while allowing 62.8 per contest. Shake Milton has been leading the team with 18 points and 4.4 assists per game but is questionable to play today due to a hand injury. Jarrey Foster is also out with a knee injury. He was averaging 13.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Bet on Cincinnati vs. SMU

The home team has won six straight meetings in this series and SMU has covered in three of the last four meetings with the Bearcats. Cincinnati did win the first meeting this season, 76-56 at home on Jan. 7. The Mustangs have a defense that is comparable to Cincinnati, but the injuries are catching up with them. They aren’t scoring very well right now and their defense isn’t quite as strong as what Cincinnati has. The public betting is backing Cincinnati today and I think the Bearcats will cover.
