Gonzaga vs. Pacific Pick
Will No. 12 Gonzaga cruise to a big win on the road when the Bulldogs face Pacific tonight at 10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Gonzaga is the clear favorite on the road, as the Bulldogs are getting odds of -13 points against Pacific. The over/under total for the game is listed at 147.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, California and will air live on ESPN3.
Gonzaga is on a five-game win streak since losing to St. Mary’s back on Jan. 18. The Bulldogs just beat BYU at home 68-60, but they have failed to cover in seven straight games. Zaga is 21-4 overall, 11-1 in the WCC and 9-12-1 against the spread. The Bulldogs are putting up 86.6 points per game this season while allowing 68.9 per contest. Johnathan Williams is averaging 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game to lead Gonzaga this season while Josh Perkins is adding 13.2 points and 5.2 assists per contest.
Pacific is coming off wins at Santa Clara and Pepperdine over the last week. The Tigers are 12-13 overall, 7-5 in the WCC and 13-9-2 against the spread. Pacific is averaging just 71 points per game this season while allowing 73.5 per contest. Roberto Gallinat and Miles Reynolds are each averaging 13 points to lead Pacific this season.
Gonzaga has won 10 straight meetings in this series, including an 81-48 victory at home over Pacific back on Jan. 28. The Bulldogs have covered in four of their last five against the Tigers, but Zaga can’t cover against anyone right now. Four of their last five have been decided by 10 or less and they haven’t covered in four straight road games. Pacific may not win, but the Tigers have covered in eight of their last nine. I think Pacific keeps this interesting at home and will cover the big spread. The public betting is strongly backing Gonzaga, but I will take Pacific with the points.
