Ohio State vs. Minnesota Pick

Will Minnesota pose a threat to ending No. 22 Ohio State’s perfect run in the Big Ten? Here’s our pick for today’s Noon ET contest.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Ohio State is favored in this game, as the Buckeyes are getting odds of -9 points against Minnesota. The over/under total for the game is listed at 148 points. Today’s game takes place from Madison Square Garden in New York City and will air live on the Big Ten Network.

Ohio State is off to a 7-0 start in the Big Ten following a 71-65 win at Northwestern. The Buckeyes have covered in five straight and are 10-8 ATS on the year to go with a 16-4 overall record. OSU is averaging 79 points per game on offense while giving up just 67.1 per game. Keita Bates-Diop has been one of the top players in the conference this year, averaging 19.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. C.J. Jackson is adding 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for the Buckeyes.

Minnesota is coming off a 77-66 loss at Maryland four its fourth defeat in five games. The Golden Gophers are now 14-7 overall, 3-5 in the Big Ten and 9-11 against the spread. Minnesota is averaging 79.7 points per game this season while allowing 72.7 per contest. Jordan Murphy is averaging 18.1 points and 12.1 rebounds per game to lead the team. Amir Coffey and Reggie Lynch were combining for 24.2 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, but both are unavailable due to injury or suspension.

Bet on Ohio State vs. Minnesota

Ohio State has won five of its last six meetings with Minnesota, covering the spread in all the wins. The Buckeyes have been covering with some ease in recent weeks, as five of their last six wins have been by double digits. Minnesota is short-handed and will be for a while. The offense hasn’t been very consistent, scoring 66 points or less in three of their last four games. I don’t think the Gophers have the scoring to be able to keep up with Ohio State today on a neutral floor. The public betting agrees and is siding with the Buckeyes.
