College Basketball Predictions: Will Virginia beat Louisville by 10?

ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech 1/3/18 ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech 1/3/18

Louisville vs. Virginia Pick

After a big win, will No. 2 Virginia avoid a letdown performance at home when the Cavaliers face Louisville tonight at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Virginia is favored at home, as the Cavaliers are getting odds of -9.5 points against Louisville tonight. The over/under total for the game is listed at 125.5 points. Tonight’s game is set to take place from John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia and will air live on ESPN2.

Virginia kept its winning streak going with a 65-63 win at Duke this past weekend. UVA is 20-1 on the season, 9-0 in the ACC and 14-4 against the spread. The Cavs have covered in five straight games. The Cavaliers average 69 points per game on offense while allowing just 52.1 per contest on defense. De’Andre Hunter injured his ankle in the win over Duke and is questionable to play tonight. Kyle Guy is the current team leader with 15.2 points per game.

Louisville is coming off a 96-77 win over Wake Forest this past weekend for its fifth win in six games. The Cardinals are 16-5 overall, 6-2 in the ACC and 11-8 against the spread. Louisville is averaging 78.5 points per game on offense this season while allowing 68.9 per game on defense. Deng Adel is averaging 15.6 points per game to lead the Cardinals while Ray Spalding is adding 11 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.

Bet on Louisville vs. Virginia

Virginia has won and covered in four straight meetings with Louisville, but the two have yet to meet this season. Both teams have covered in seven of their last eight games, so this is a tough call. However, Louisville has been playing some of the lesser teams in the ACC lately. UVA has picked up three road wins in their last four and is playing as well as any one. I think the Cavs remain dominant on defense and keep Louisville to a low total. The public betting is siding with Virginia and I like the Cavs to cover as well.

CBB DAILY PREDICTION: VIRGINIA -9.5
