Foster Loyer will start Friday’s contest against Fordham. Loyer will draw the start in place of Grant Huffman, who will presumably still be available off the bench. Loyer, a transfer from Michigan State, operated as a reserve during Davidson’s regular season finale following a return from a four-game absence due to a leg injury, but he’s back in his usual spot in the starting lineup Friday. The 6-foot guard is averaging 16.8 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game.

Tyson Walker (ankle) who was previous expected to miss practices this week, has indeed been active with the team at practice, Kyle Austin of MLive.com reports.Walker, who sustained an ankle injury in the Big Ten tournament against Purdue, has practiced with the team this week. The 6-foot junior has appeared in all 34 games for the Spartans this season, averaging 8.1 points, 1.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and one steal on 22.4 minutes per game. Walker has been integral in distributing the ball for Michigan State and the Spartans will hope to have him back soon.
