Dariq Whitehead closed Saturday’s 86-67 victory over Florida State with 16 points (5-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal across 28 minutes. Whitehead hadn’t appeared in a game for three entire weeks due to the nature of the schedule and the fact he missed a Dec. 20 game due to illness. That didn’t seem to affect him, however, as the five-star freshman put up a season-high scoring total. While he came off the bench here and has made just one start all season, Whitehead at least appears to be trending in the right direction, with his minutes and scoring both appearing to be on the rise since his Nov. 18 season debut. He’s a player worth investing in while the price might still be reasonable.
N.C. State Wolfpack DFS Spin
Terquavion Smith accumulated 21 points (5-21 FG, 3-13 3Pt, 8-10 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes during Friday’s 78-64 loss to Clemson. Smith needed 21 shots to score 21 points and had a tough performance from the field, but he still found a way to lead the Wolfpack in this loss against Clemson. Despite the struggles from the field, Smith’s role as NC State’s main scoring threat is all but safe, and he remains one of the most talented offensive players in the Conference even if he has a down game here and there.
