Duke vs. Pittsburgh Pick
Is No. 7 Duke going to be able to avoid another letdown performance in ACC play when it hits the road to face Pittsburgh tonight at 7PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Duke is favored on the road, as the Blue Devils are getting odds of -18.5 points against Pittsburgh. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 155.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will air live on ESPN2.
Duke is coming off a 96-85 loss at N.C. State this weekend to fall to 1-2 in the ACC. The Blue Devils are now 13-2 overall and 8-5 against the spread. Duke is just 2-4 ATS in its last six games. The Blue Devils are averaging 93.9 points per game on offense while allowing 75.4 per game. Marvin Bagley III is leading the team with 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Grayson Allen is adding 16.8 points per contest.
Pittsburgh has lost three straight coming into tonight, all by at least 14 points. The Panthers are 8-8 on the season and 0-3 in the ACC. They are also 6-5 against the spread. Pitt is averaging just 67.5 points per game this season while allowing 69.9 per contest. Jared Wilson-Frame is leading Pitt with 12.9 points per game while Ryan Luther is adding 12.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. However, Luther is battling a foot injury that has him out for tonight’s contest.
Duke has won three of its last four meetings with Pittsburgh, but the Panthers are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five against the Blue Devils. Duke has not been playing well, especially on the road. They have lost outright to both Boston College and N.C. State despite being double-digit favorites. I just can’t trust them to cover such a large spread in a similar setting tonight. The public betting is backing Duke tonight, but I will take the points with the home team.
