Florida vs. Georgia Pick
Is No. 23 Florida in danger of suffering another loss tonight when it goes on the road to face Georgia at 7PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Florida is favored on the road tonight, as the Gators are getting odds of -3.5 points against Georgia. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 134 points. Tonight’s game will take place from Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia and will air live on the SEC Network.
Florida is coming off an 81-60 win over Baylor in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge this weekend. The Gators are 15-6 overall, 6-2 in the SEC and 11-9 against the spread. Florida is averaging 80.7 points per game on offense this season while allowing 71.8 per game on defense. Jalen Hudson is leading Florida with 16.5 points per game while Egor Koulechov is adding 14.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest.
Georgia is coming off a 56-51 loss at Kansas State for its third straight loss. The Bulldogs come into this game 12-8 overall, 3-5 in the SEC and 9-8 against the spread. Georgia is holding opponents to just 66 points per game this season while scoring only 69.3 per contest. Yante Maten is averaging 19.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game to lead the Bulldogs while William Jackson II is adding 9.5 points per contest.
Florida has won four straight meetings with Georgia, covering the spread in three of those four wins. The Gators had a slip up against South Carolina last week, but I think they will be just fine tonight. Florida has a more rounded offense and a defense that should be able to handle Georgia. The Bulldogs are reliant on Maten to do most of the work and one man isn’t going to beat a balanced team like Florida. The public betting is backing Florida tonight and I agree with them.
