Florida vs. Texas A&M Prediction
The SEC tournament rolls on today at 1:00PM ET when Texas A&M takes on Florida at 1:00PM ET as a slight favorite.
The Aggies are now a 4-point favorite over the Gators according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 140 points after opening at that same number. There was some line movement on the side, as A&M was bought up a half point after the Aggies opened at -3.5.
Bettors hammering A&M at the betting window ahead of today’s matchup
When these two teams met on January 12 of this year Florida had trouble containing Jones and Danuel House. Jalen Jones had 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting in Texas A&M’s 71-68 victory, while House finished with 22 points despite missing 17-of-24 attempts. The key in that game was the Aggies’ ability to avoid turnovers (seven for the game) and convert on their free throws (20-of-30).
Turnovers could play a role today, especially for a Gators team that had to play yesterday to advance in the tournament. (Florida defeated Arkansas 68-61 while covering as a 2.5-point favorite.) The Gators are just 8-23-2 against the spread in their last 33 games following a win and have failed to cover in eight of their last 11 games overall. Contrast those numbers to the Aggies’ (5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five coming off a win), and A&M should cover the small spread.
