Bulldogs struggle against Florida
Georgia lost its third consecutive game Saturday with a 62-52 home loss to the Gators. The Bulldogs (9-8, 1-4 SEC) trailed 33-23 at halftime before rallying back to take a brief second-half lead, but ultimately faltered again. Georgia shot 17-of-43 from the field, 5-of-14 from 3-point distance and 13-of-19 from the free throw line. Jordan Harris paced the Bulldogs as he was the lone player in double figures for scoring with 10 points on 2-of-7 shooting plus 6-of-8 at the free throw line. He also accounted for two rebounds and two assists.
Tigers win seventh straight
Louisiana State continued its strong play Saturday night as it dominated visiting South Carolina to the tune of 89-67. Naz Reid helped pace the Tigers (14-3, 4-0) with 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting plus 7-of-8 at the free throw line. He also had six rebounds and two assists. Emmitt Williams accounted for 15 points off the bench plus 13 rebounds and two steals. Kavell Bigby-Williams tallied 12 points and 11 boards. Tremont Waters accounted for 12 points, six assists, two caroms and two steals. Ja’Vonte Smart registered 12 points and six rebounds as a reserve. Marlon Taylor added 10 points and six rebounds. Louisiana State led 48-28 at halftime to take control early. The Tigers shot 27-of-64 from the floor, 3-of-19 from 3-point distance and 32-of-35 at the free throw line.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Georgia
The Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Georgia is 1-5 ATS in its last six SEC games.
LSU
The Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. LSU is 5-0-1 ATS in its last six SEC games.
Prediction:
All but one opponent during the Tigers’ seven-game win streak have been in the top 100 and they have won all four home games by at least nine points. With Georgia scoring only 101 points total offensively in the last two games, I don’t think it will magically turn it around tonight in a tough road environment. Expect LSU to roll.
