Gonzaga earned a 73-72 win over 11th-ranked Oregon Thursday to advance to the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game. The Bulldogs (8-0) were outscored 29-23 in the second half before outscoring the Ducks 7-6 in the extra session. Filip Petrusev paced the Zags with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting plus 8-of-9 at the free throw line. He also pulled down 15 rebounds. Corey Kispert accounted for 17 points, seven boards and two assists. Joel Ayayi added 13 points, five caroms, three assists and two steals off the bench.
Wolverines upset Tar Heels
Michigan recorded a 73-64 win over sixth-ranked North Carolina Thursday afternoon in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Wolverines (6-0) outscored the Tar Heels 34-30 in the second half with a 19-0 run providing the highlight. Eli Brooks paced U-M with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also grabbed five rebounds. Isaiah Livers tallied 12 points, four boards and three assists. David DeJulius registered 11 points and two assists off the bench. Jon Teske added 10 points, eight caroms and four blocked shots.

Prediction:
The Bulldogs had to expend some extra energy to get past Oregon yesterday, but I think they have another gear here. Gonzaga boasts a top five offense in the nation in terms of adjusted efficiency and while the Wolverines are very solid defensively, I don’t know if they can get consistent stops while also keeping up on the offensive end. I see a potential Final Four team here in the Zags and I am betting on them to make a statement here.
