AAC Title Game Total Prediction

Is the under a safe bet in today’s American Athletic Conference men’s championship game between No. 21 Houston and No. 8 Cincinnati?

Game Snapshot

(827) Houston Cougars vs. (828) Cincinnati Bearcats

Sunday, March 11, 2018

TV: CBS, 3:30 p.m. ET

Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Bearcats are 4.5-point favorites to beat the Cougars, who also opened at many online books as a 4.5-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, hit the board at 129.5 but was bet down to 128.5.

Who Public Bettors Like: Cincinnati. As of Sunday morning, 58% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Bearcats to cover the 4.5-point spread. Meanwhile, 69% of the betting tickets are on the over.

Who We Like: Houston will struggle with Cincinnati’s length in the frontcourt and both of these teams will have sound defensive game plans so I like the under. In the second meeting between these two teams this season, the Cougars effectively forced the Bearcats to make a much of jumpers. Cincinnati instead drove the lane and created a bunch of foul shots (32 to be exact) but perhaps the officials will let the two teams play today.

The under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings between these two teams and has cashed in seven of the Cougars’ last eight games when facing an opponent with a winning record. On the other side, the under is 6-1 in the Bearcats’ last seven games when facing an opponent with a winning record and is 57-28 in their last 85 games coming off an ATS loss.

AAC TOURNAMENT TITLE GAME PREDICTION: HOUSTON/CINCINNATI UNDER 128.5
