Georgetown looks to move into a tie for the top spot in the Big East and extend its season-high winning streak to 10 games Wednesday night when it visits last-place Cincinnati for the first time.
The 12th-ranked Hoyas (20-5, 10-2) are one-half game behind No. 10 Pittsburgh for first place in the conference, and host the Panthers on Saturday.

Georgetown, though, will first face the struggling Bearcats (10-16, 1-11) as it tries to continue its impressive run in which it has outscored opponents by an average of 14.4 points.
The Hoyas defeated Villanova 58-55 on Saturday in the closest win of the streak as Jeff Green made the game-winning shot with 19.8 seconds left.
"I just wanted the ball," said Green, who led the Hoyas with 19 points and nine rebounds. "I was in one of those zones where I felt like I was very confident in my shot."
The Hoyas last won 10 consecutive games from Nov. 21, 2003-Jan. 3, 2004, and have not lost since a 74-69 defeat at Pitt on Jan. 13.
Green, Georgetown’s leading scorer with 13.4 points per game, has been superb over the last seven games, averaging 19.1 points. The junior forward is a key part of the Hoyas’ strong frontcourt along with junior center Roy Hibbert and freshman forward DaJuan Summers.
The 7-foot-2 Hibbert managed only four points on 2-for-4 shooting Saturday after scoring at least 20 in three of the previous four contests, including back-to-back wins against ranked opponents Marquette and West Virginia on Feb. 10 and 12.
Summers is averaging 11.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in the last four games.
"We’re in the process of growing up," Georgetown coach John Thompson III said of his young team that also has sophomore Jessie Sapp and junior Jonathan Wallace starting at guard.
All five starters are averaging at least 9.0 points per game and the Hoyas are the second-best shooting team in the nation, making 52.3 percent of their shots. They are also strong defensively, allowing 56.1 points a contest to lead the Big East.
Georgetown shot 52.8 percent from the field and got 26 points and 11 rebounds from Hibbert in an 82-67 win over Cincinnati on Jan. 27. The Hoyas, who have won five straight on the road, are making their first trip to Fifth Third Arena.
The Bearcats, meanwhile, are trying to avoid losing nine in a row for the first time since Nov. 28-Dec. 29, 1983. They have won only once in their last 14 contests, a 96-83 overtime victory over the Mountaineers on Jan. 20.
Cincinnati lost its fourth straight at home Sunday, 76-64 to Notre Dame. The Bearcats were led by a pair of freshmen as John Williamson had 23 points and nine rebounds, while leading scorer Deonta Vaughn added 22 points and five steals.
Williamson is averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds over the last five games.
