Iowa State Cyclones DFS Spin
Gabe Kalscheur chipped in 23 points (7-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-5 FT), one rebound, one assist and three steals over 36 minutes during Saturday’s 77-62 victory over Baylor. Kalscheur started his second game of the season with Cyclones power forward Aljaz Kunc sidelined due to a broken finger. The fifth-year guard, who started all but one of 35 games last year, went on to match his best scoring performance of the season while also making a season-high seven field goals and five three-pointers. Kalscheur and starting shooting guard Caleb Grill were also the only two Iowa State players to score more than 10 points, and these are now tied for second on the team in points per game (10.7) behind Jaren Holmes (13.5). With Kunc likely to miss some additional time moving forward, expect Kalscheur to start again Wednesday versus Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Sooners DFS Spin
Tanner Groves notched 13 points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes during Tuesday’s 62-53 victory over Florida. Groves logged his second double-double of the season in this opening game of the Jumpman Invitational. The senior center also finished second on the Sooners in both points, behind star guard Grant Sherfield (22), and rebounds, behind forward Jalen Hill (12). Sherfield still leads the team in rebounds per game this season (6.9) and sits second in scoring (11.1). He’ll look to keep up his efficient 55.4 field-goal percentage while facing the tough frontcourt of the No.7 ranked Texas Longhorns on Saturday.
