Kansas State Wildcats DFS Spin
Keyontae Johnson registered 24 points (7-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals across 34 minutes during Tuesday’s 83-82 OT victory over Kansas. Johnson continued his campaign as one of the best comeback stories of the 2022-23 season, as he posted at least 20 points for the sixth time in his 18 starts for the Wildcats. The Florida transfer appeared unphased while facing the No. 2-ranked Jayhawks led by experienced forward Jalen Wilson, who was the only player from either team to finish with more points than Johnson with 38. Johnson also scored what wound up being the game-winning score off of an alley-oop from point guard Markquis Nowell with 24 seconds remaining in OT. The fifth-year senior has now averaged 18.7 points and 7.2 boards while shooting 39.3 percent from beyond the arc and 55.2 percent overall this season, and he should be considered one of the most valuable fantasy players moving forward this year.
Iowa State Cyclones DFS Spin
Jaren Holmes closed Tuesday’s 78-67 victory over Texas with 21 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 36 minutes. Holmes posted over 20 points for the first time since the Nov. 25 win over UNC and his third time this season overall. The 6-foot-4 senior’s scoring average had taken a slight dip over the first five Big 12 games (10.4), though he still averaged 10.8 field-goal attempts per game over this span. Holmes will likely continue to split the Cyclones’ top scoring duties with fellow senior guards Caleb Grill and Gabe Kalscheur moving forward.
