Wildcats drop seventh straight

Kansas State lost by a score of 70-59 Saturday at home versus Texas to fall to 9-18 overall and 2-12 in the Big 12 Conference. The Wildcats trailed 42-23 at halftime and were unable to recover. Xavier Sneed led KSU with 15 points on 3-of-12 shooting including 1-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 8-of-11 at the free throw line. He also registered seven rebounds and three assists. Makol Mawien accounted for 14 points and 10 boards.

Bears fall to Jayhawks

Previously top-ranked Baylor lost 64-61 at home Saturday afternoon against Kansas to drop to 24-2 overall and 13-1 in conference action. The Bears trailed 34-31 at halftime and could not find a path to the win after the break. Jared Butler led 19 points on 7-of-18 shooting including 4-of-10 from 3-point range plus 1-of-3 at the charity stripe. He also accounted for six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Freddie Gillespie registered 10 points, seven boards and two blocked shots. Matthew Mayer added 10 points, three caroms and two steals off the bench.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Kansas State

The Wildcats are 0-5 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. Kansas State is 1-4 ATS in its last five games overall.

Baylor

The Bears are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The home team is 2-7-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Prediction:

The Bears had a reasonbly tough time with KSU on the road in a 73-67 victory, but they will be coming into tonight’s game a bit salty and the poor Wildcats are the poor target. With how badly Kansas State has struggled the last several weeks, I don’t see it hanging around here. Look for Baylor to run away and hide fairly quickly as the nation’s second-ranked defense takes advantage of a poor Wildcats offensive attack.
