Kansas vs. TCU Pick
Will No. 10 Kansas be able to bounce back from its latest loss when the Jayhawks go on the road to face No. 16 TCU tonight at 9:15PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kansas is favored on the road, as the Jayhawks are getting odds of -1.5 points against TCU. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 158.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas and will air live on ESPN2.
Kansas is coming off an 85-73 loss at home to Texas Tech earlier this week, which snapped a four-game win streak. The Jayhawks are now 11-3 overall, 1-1 in the Big 12 and 8-5 against the spread. Kansas is scoring 86.8 points per game this season while allowing 68.5 per contest on defense. Devonte’ Graham is leading Kansas with 17.9 points and 7.5 assists per game. Lagerald Vick is adding 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
TCU is coming off an 81-78 OT win at Baylor earlier this week to get to 1-1 in the Big 12. The Horned Frogs are now 13-1 overall and 7-6 against the spread. TCU is averaging 87.1 points per game on offense while giving up 74.2 per game on defense. The Horned Frogs are being led by Kenrich Williams, who is averaging 14.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Vladimir Brodziansky is adding 13.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest.
Kansas has won nine of its last 10 meetings with Kansas, but the Horned Frogs have covered in five of the last seven encounters. Though TCU is 1-1 in the Big 12, the two games came down to the wire. They lost by 1 to a great Oklahoma team and escaped Baylor with an OT victory. Kansas hasn’t been somewhat shaky this season and the Jayhawks are getting everyone’s best shot in the Big 12. Everyone wants to see a new conference champ and making it tough on the Jayhawks. The public betting is with Kansas, but I think TCU has the ability to pull off the upset.
