Kansas vs. Texas Tech Prediction

Will the Kansas Jayhawks get their revenge on the Texas Tech Red Raiders when the Big 12 rivals meet at 4:15 p.m. ET in the biggest matchup of the day?

Who Oddsmakers Like: Texas Tech. According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Red Raiders are 1.5-point home favorites to beat the Jayhawks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 142 points. While the total hasn’t seen much movement, the side has gone from Texas Tech -2 down to -1.5.

Who Public Bettors Like: Kansas. As of this writing, 63% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Jayhawks to cover the spread.

Who We Like: The Jayhawks are aiming for their 14th consecutive Big 12 regular season championship under Bill Self. All they need to do is beat the Red Raiders, who topped Self’s squad earlier this year.

Kansas is 17-0 in revenge spots over the last 15 years, which includes a win earlier this week against Oklahoma. Of course, Tech owns a 17-game home winning streak, so take these trends with a grain of salt.

The difference for me in this matchup is the health of senior guard Keenan Evans, who is the Red Raiders’ leading scorer. He injured his toe last weekend against Baylor and sat out the second half of the game. He did play this week against Oklahoma State but shot 1-for-7 from the field while recording just two points. Evans did not practice on Thursday and while he should play tonight, he could be limited. I love Kansas in this spot.
