Kent State Golden Flashes Notes
Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff ruled Giovanni Santiago (hand) out for Friday’s opening-round matchup with Indiana in the NCAA Tournament, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports. Santiago hasn’t played since Feb. 3 due to the hand injury, but the Golden Flashes were able to soldier on without him and punch their ticket to the postseason with a win over Toledo in the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game last weekend. VonCameron Davis should continue to start in place for Santiago on Friday, just as Davis did in each of Kent State’s last 11 games.
Indiana Hoosiers Notes
CJ Gunn is not partaking in practice Thursday ahead of Friday’s opening round matchup against Kent State, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports. It’s unclear if Gunn is dealing with some sort of undisclosed injury or not. The 6-6 freshman has appeared in just two games since Jan. 31 and is unlikely to see the floor regardless even if he does suit up Friday against the Golden Flashes.
