According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Kentucky and Maryland enter the season as the co-favorites to win the championship, as each team has 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Duke (17/2) and North Carolina (10/1).

Kentucky is coming off a 38-1 record last season where it lost to Wisconsin in the Final Four. The Wildcats lost a lot of the team to the NBA, but once again bring in a tremendous freshmen class.

Maryland is coming off a 28-7 record last season with a 14-4 mark in the Big Ten. The team lost six players from that group, but Melo Trimble returns after being a Freshman All-American last year.

Duke was 35-4 last year and finished as the national champions after winning March Madness. The team lost some quality talent, three of which were high draft picks. Leading the group could be sophomore Grayson Allen, who emerged as a big player during last season’s NCAA Tournament.

North Carolina is coming off a 26-12 record last year where it Tar Heels lost to Wisconsin in the Sweet Sixteen of the tournament. Marcus Paige returns from a strong tournament season to lead UNC this year.
