Will Kentucky run the table?
LEXINGTON, KY (TheSpread) – The 2014-15 college basketball season is winding down and the Kentucky Wildcats are still without a loss. Can Kentucky run the table and have a perfect season?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Kentucky’s odds to have a perfect season, including a perfect run through the NCAA Tournament, has been set at +150. The odds of the Wildcats suffering a loss along the way has been set at -185.
Kentucky is currently 29-0 on the season and the Wildcats are 16-0 in the SEC. Of the 29 games, 23 have seen Kentucky win by double figures. The Wildcats have two games remaining in the regular season. They will head to Georgia on Tuesday. UK beat Georgia at home, 69-58 back on Feb. 3. The Wildcats then face rival Florida at home to close the regular season on Saturday. Kentucky owns a 68-61 road win over the Gators back on Feb. 7.
Following the regular season, Kentucky will have to win three games in the SEC Tournament and then all six games in the NCAA Tournament to have a perfect season at 40-0. The last team to have a perfect season in college basketball was the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers, led by Bobby Knight.
