Louisville dismisses Jones from team
LOUISVILLE, KY (TheSpread) – Louisville made a bold decision on Sunday, choosing to dismiss Chris Jones from the team for good.
The Cardinals had previously suspended the senior guard for last Wednesday’s game against Syracuse, but he returned on Saturday and scored 17 points in a win over Miami. However, the return was short-lived, as Jones was dismissed from the team on Sunday afternoon.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Louisville is currently getting 28/1 odds to win the Final Four this season. The Cardinals have the 11th shortest odds of any team in the country. Kentucky is the favorite with 11/10 odds while Wisconsin has 15/2 odds.
The Cardinals were getting 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season from Jones. Louisville is 21-6 on the season and 9-5 in the ACC. The Cardinals are currently four games behind Virginia for first place in the conference. They have lost three of their last five games and will face Georgia Tech later tonight.
