Louisville vs. Notre Dame Pick
Can Notre Dame pick up an ACC win at home tonight when the Fighting Irish play host to Louisville at 7PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Notre Dame is the slight favorite at home, as the Fighting Irish are getting odds of -3 points against Louisville. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 140 points. Today’s game takes place from the Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Indiana and will air live on ESPN2.
Notre Dame has lost two straight coming into tonight, falling to Georgia Tech and North Carolina. The Fighting Irish are 13-5 overall, 3-2 in the ACC and 7-7 against the spread. ND has covered in three of its last four games. The Irish are currently averaging 77.4 points per game on offense while allowing 64.6 per game on defense. ND is without Bonzie Colson until late February due to his foot injury, but the Irish are expected to get Matt Farrell back tonight. He’s missed a few games due to an ankle issue. Farrell is averaging 15.9 points and 5.1 assists per game.
Louisville is coming off back-to-back wins over Florida State and Virginia Tech. The Cardinals are now 13-4 overall, 3-1 in the ACC and 8-7 against the spread. Louisville has been hot at the betting window, covering in all four SEC games. The Cardinals are averaging 77.6 points per game this year while giving up 67.4 per contest on defense. Deng Adel is averaging 15.8 points per game to lead the Cardinals while Ray Spalding is adding 11.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.
Bet on Louisville vs. Notre Dame
Notre Dame has won three of its last four meetings with Louisville, covering the spread in all four games. Though the Irish have lost their last two, they still have been playing well despite the injuries. Their defensive effort has been very strong since losing Colson. Louisville is a tough team that has played well in ACC action, but I think the addition of Farrell tonight will give ND a boost on offense. The public betting is split on this game, but I will take the Irish.
