Will No. 7 Michigan pull off another upset when it takes on No. 2 Louisville today at 12:10PM ET in the NCAA Tournament?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Louisville is the slight favorite, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -3 points against the Wolverines. The over/under total for the game is 141 points. These two actually met in the 2013 championship game, with Louisville winning 82-76. Michigan continues to be on fire, as the Wolverines are coming off a 92-91 win over Oklahoma State in one of the top games in the first round. The Wolverines are now 25-11 overall and 16-17 against the spread. In the win over the Cowboys, Michigan was an impressive 16-of-29 from the arc. Derrick Walton Jr. put up 26 points and 11 assists while hitting six three pointers. He’s about as hot as anyone right now, scoring over 20 points in three straight while averaging 9 assists per game in that span as well. U-M is averaging 79.2 points over its last five games while shooting 51 percent from the field.
Louisville is coming off a 78-63 win over Jacksonville State in the opening round to get to 25-8 on the season. The Cardinals didn’t cover in the win and they are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven. They sit at 17-13-1 ATS on the season. The Cards average 77.5 points per game on offense for the season while allowing just 65.8. Quentin Snider and Deng Adel each had 16 points for Louisville in the first-round win while Mangok Mathiang added 18.
Michigan probably won’t be as hot as it was against Oklahoma State, but the Wolverines also won’t need to put up 92 to beat the Cardinals. Louisville allowed Jacksonville State to shoot 50 percent from the arc, so the Wolverines should get their looks. As long as Michigan can avoid foul trouble with their starters, I like their chances today. They are just playing so well right now, I can’t look past them.
