PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
As of Saturday morning, 51% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Red Raiders to cover the point spread. Meanwhile, 69% of the betting tickets are on the over.
KEY INJURIES
Texas Tech does not have any players listed on its injury report but that’s not the case for Florida. John Egbunu (knee), Isaiah Stokes (knee) and Chase Johnson (concussion) are all out for the Gators, although Mike Okauru (head) is probable.
BETTING STRATEGY
Since 2006, no team has reached the Elite 8 more often than Florida. So history is on the side of the Gators to at least advance to the Sweet 16. The betting trends are also in Florida’s favor. The Gators are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against the Big 12, are 4-1 against the number in their last five games overall, and are 3-1-1 at the betting window in their last five NCAA tournament games as well.
The betting trends have not been as kind to the Red Raiders, who have been a bad bet of late. They’re winless at 0-7-1 against the spread in their last eight games overall, are 1-5 against the number in their last six matchups with SEC opponents, and are winless ATS in their last four NCAA tournament games. I like the upset here.
