Tigers down Shockers
Memphis secured a 68-60 home win Thursday night over Wichita State to improve to 21-9 overall and 10-7 in the AAC. The Tigers led 29-24 at halftime en route to the triumph. Tyler Harris paced Memphis with 19 points off the bench on 6-of-11 shooting including 5-of-9 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He also recorded four rebounds and four assists. Precious Achiuwa accounted for 14 points, 16 boards, three blocked shots and two steals. Lester Quinones added 12 points and seven caroms.
Cougars stumble at Huskies
Houston lost by a score of 77-71 Thursday night at Connecticut to drop to 22-8 overall and 12-5 in conference action. The Cougars were outscored 47-34 in the second half after leading by seven at the break. Quentin Grimes led Houston with 24 points off the bench on 9-of-22 shooting including 4-of-9 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. College Basketball Betting Trends
Memphis
The Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. The underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
Houston
The Cougars are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Houston is 19-7 ATS in its last 26 Saturday games.
Prediction:
The Cougars will be in a major revenge spot here as it lost 60-59 at Memphis only 15 days ago. With a share of the AAC regular season title on the line with a victory plus a Tulsa loss, I don’t think Houston will be messing around here. The Cougars are efficient on both sides of the court and have not lost at home since December. Against a Memphis team that has lost three of its last four road games straight up, I’d rather side with the hosts to win big.
