Miami struggles to cover after a loss, hosts Notre Dame on ESPN2 tonight

Miami hoping to bounce back

No. 17 Miami is coming off a loss, which hasn’t been a good spot for the Hurricanes, as they get set to host Notre Dame tonight at 7PM ET on ESPN2.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Miami is the favorite at home tonight, as the Hurricanes are getting odds of -6 points against the Fighting Irish. The over/under total for the contest has yet to be set.

Miami (16-4) had a three-game win streak snapped this past weekend when it suffered an 85-69 loss at N.C. State. The Hurricanes now hope to bounce back against Notre Dame (15-6, 6-3). Miami hasn’t fared terribly well against the Irish in recent years, losing four of their last five meetings while going just 2-5 against the spread in the last seven of this series.

Another thing to consider for Miami is that it has been very poor at the betting window when coming off a loss. The Hurricanes are 0-3 ATS when coming off a loss this season and they are just 3-10-1 ATS when coming off a loss since 2014. The Hurricanes have picked up wins after losses, but not by enough to cover. Notre Dame certainly will be a handful tonight.
