Michigan State Spartans Notes
Joey Hauser racked up 17 points (4-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds and one assist across 36 minutes during Friday’s 72-62 victory over USC. Hauser led the way for Sparty’s opening win in the tournament. He’s averaged 17 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in his last four contests which are solid numbers for a team that likes to distribute production.
Marquette Golden Eagles Notes
Tyler Kolek (thumb) is expected top play on Sunday against Michigan State, John Leuzzi at MUWireSports reports. The star junior had a scary moment in Friday’s win over Vermont, where the guard fell awkwardly injuring his thumb. Coach Smart expects him to play Sunday against Michigan State. Kolek is averaging 13.1 points and 7.6 assists per game this season.

Michigan State vs. Marquette CBB Prediction:
The Golden Eagles are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five NCAA Tournament games and despite them covering in 15 of their last 22 games overall, I like the Spartans tonight. Tyson Walker and Joey Hauser have been outstanding for MSU, as Walker is averaging 14.5 points per game while Hauser isn’t far behind at 14.3 PPG. The Spartans’ size and length could give the Golden Eagles’ issues this evening.
