Michigan State vs. Minnesota College Basketball Predictions 2/13/18

Michigan State vs. Minnesota Pick

Can No. 2 Michigan State shake off its road struggles when it takes on Minnesota tonight at 9PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Michigan State is favored on the road, as the Spartans are getting odds of -10 points against Minnesota. The over/under total for the game is listed at 148.5 points. Tonight’s game will take place from Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota and will air live on ESPN2.

Michigan State is coming off a 68-65 win at home over Purdue for its eighth straight victory. The Spartans are now 24-3 overall, 12-2 in the Big Ten and 13-12-2 against the spread. MSU is averaging 83.1 points per game on offense this season while allowing 65.3 per game. On the road, MSU puts up just 74.3 on offense while allowing 71.2 per game. Miles Bridges is leading Michigan State with 17.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while Nick Ward is adding 13.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest.

Minnesota is coming off an 80-56 loss at Indiana for its seventh straight loss and ninth loss in 10 games. The Gophers are now 14-13 overall, 3-11 in the Big Ten and 10-16 against the spread. Minnesota is putting up 77.2 points per game this season while allowing 74.5 per game. Jordan Murphy has led the team this season with 17.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. Nate Mason is adding 16.5 points per contest.

Bet on Michigan State vs. Minnesota

Michigan State has won three of the last four meetings in this series, covering the spread in two of the last three. The Spartans clearly are the more talented team, but they have struggled with playing down to their competition. MSU is 0-4-2 ATS in its last six and 2-6-2 ATS in its last 10. They have failed to cover in their last three on the road and haven’t won by more than 10 in their last five games. The Gophers aren’t much better at covering, but they are at home and getting double-digit points. The public betting is strongly with Michigan State, but I am going to take the points.
