Michigan Wolverines Game Notes

Wolverines center Danny Wolf posted a double-double in his team’s 86-68 win over Purdue on Friday night. The Yale transfer recorded 18 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and a blocked shot in 35 minutes. Wolf shot 7 of 10 from the field and 2 of 4 from long range in the victory.

Michigan center Vladislav Goldin also played well against the Boilermakers on Friday. The 7’1” senior logged 15 points, 8 rebounds, an assist, 2 blocks, and 5 made free throws across 25 minutes of playing time. Goldin leads the team in scoring with 16.7 points per game this year.

Maryland Terrapins Game Notes

Terrapins guard Rodney Rice went off in his team’s 88-65 blowout win over Illinois on Friday. In 24 minutes, the Virginia Tech transfer registered 26 points and 2 assists. Rice shot 8 of 12 from the floor and 7 of 9 from three-point range in the victory.

Maryland center Derik Queen notched a double-double in his team’s game on Friday. The 6’10” freshman from Baltimore accumulated 19 points, 10 rebounds, an assist, a blocked shot, and 2 steals in 23 minutes. Queen is leading the team in scoring this season with 15.7 points per game.

Michigan is 0-3 ATS in their last 3 games against Maryland.

The Wolverines are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Maryland is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Maryland is 11-9-1 ATS in conference games this season.

Michigan vs. Maryland CBB Prediction:

Maryland matches up well with Michigan. The Wolverines have a pair of 7-footers who are averaging over 12 points per game in Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf. The Terps have a pair of capable big men themselves in 6’10” Derik Queen and 6’9” Julian Reese. Queen had 17 points and 12 rebounds in Maryland’s 71-65 road win over Michigan on March 5th. I could see him having another big game on Saturday.

What’s more, the Terps have posted a pair of double-digit wins since that game, and come into this contest riding a three-game winning streak. Maryland is also 3-0 ATS in that stretch and will be facing Michigan on equal rest. The Terrapins are 6-5 ATS when playing an opponent on equal rest this season. Michigan is only 3-4 ATS in that same scenario this year. In what will likely be a hard-fought contest, I’m laying the points with Maryland in this one. The pick is Maryland -4.5 points over Michigan at Bovada.lv.

Michigan vs. Maryland CBB Prediction: MARYLAND TERRAPINS -4.5
