Wolverines win Battle 4 Atlantis
Michigan defeated its second top 10 team in as many days Friday afternoon as it blasted eighth-ranked Gonzaga by a count of 82-64 in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game in the Bahamas. The Wolverines (7-0) led 36-25 at halftime en route to the win. Isaiah Livers led U-M with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point distance in 34 minutes of action. Jon Teske contributed 19 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots. Zavier Simpson tallied 13 points, 13 assists and six boards. Franz Wagner added 10 points, four caroms and two steals.
Cardinals race past Hilltoppers
Louisville earned a 71-54 victory over Western Kentucky Friday in Nashville to improve to 8-0 on the season. The Cardinals led 37-23 at halftime on their way to the triumph. Jordan Nwora led Louisville with 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting including 4-of-9 from 3-point range plus 5-of-5 at the free throw line. He also brought down five rebounds. Dwayne Sutton added 15 points and seven boards.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Michigan
The Wolverines are 4-0 in their last four non-conference games. Michigan is 20-9 ATS in its last 29 road games.
Louisville
The Cardinals are 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 Tuesday games. Louisville is 1-5 ATS in its last six home games.
Prediction:
This should be a dandy, but I’m not sure the Wolverines will have everything in the tank after a draining week in the Bahamas that saw them win three games including the last two over North Carolina and Gonzaga. That propelled them from being unranked to fourth in the rankings, tied for the largest jump all-time. The Cardinals have not played nearly as tough of a schedule, but have a veteran bunch that has been only tested once thus far by a solid Akron squad. I think Louisville will end up being too much for U-M tonight as its elite offense is coupled with a fantastic defense to make for a well-rounded squad.
