Wolverines dominate Cornhuskers
Michigan rolled to an 82-58 home win Thursday night over Nebraska to improve to 19-11 overall and 10-9 in Big Ten Conference play. The Wolverines outscored the Cornhuskers 50-30 in the second half to turn it into a blowout. Isaiah Livers led U-M with 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting including 3-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-1 at the free throw line. He also registered 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jon Teske tallied 12 points, five boards, two steals and two blocked shots. Zavier Simpson accounted for 11 points, 10 assists, three steals and two caroms. Franz Wagner racked up 11 points, five rebounds and two steals. Brandon Johns Jr. added 10 points and five boards off the bench.
Terrapins drop second straight
Maryland lost 78-67 Tuesday night at Rutgers to fall to 23-7 overall and 13-6 in the Big Ten Conference. The Terrapins trailed 35-29 at halftime and continued to fall behind further after the break. Anthony Cowan Jr. led Maryland with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting including 3-of-9 from 3-point range plus 4-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also notched four rebounds and three assists. Jalen Smith added 16 points, 10 boards, three blocked shots and two assists.

Prediction:
Michigan has been scrappy all season and while it has had some rough stretches, it is fully healthy now and has shown the ability to beat anyone. The Wolverines have straight up wins over the likes of Rutgers and Purdue on the road over the last few weeks. The pressure is on Maryland to take care of business today and I’m betting on U-M to play spoiler in that regard.
