N.C. State looking to get on track

The Wolfpack are coming off an embarrassing performance this weekend, losing 47-24 at home after shooting just 9-of-54 from the field. They have lost three of their last four and are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight. N.C. State is 16-6 on the season, 4-5 in the ACC, 2-3 on the road, 13-9 against the spread and 13-8 with the under.

N.C. State is averaging 81.6 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.2 percent from the field. Defensively, N.C. State is allowing 68.3 points per game while limiting opponents to just 29.5 percent from the arc. Torin Dorn is leading the team with 13.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while C.J. Bryce is adding 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.

UNC rolling along

North Carolina is coming off a 79-69 win at Louisville this weekend for a fifth straight victory and fourth straight cover. The Tar Heels are now 17-4 on the season, 7-1 in the ACC, 9-1 at home, 13-6-2 against the spread and 11-10 with the under.

UNC has one of the top offenses in the nation, as the Heels average 87.1 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field. UNC is also the top-rebounding team in the country, averaging 43.9 per game. Defensively, North Carolina is giving up 72.6 points per game while holding opponents to 41.3 percent shooting. Cameron Johnson is leading the team with 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while Luke Maye is adding 14.1 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest.

College Basketball Betting Trends

N.C. State

The Wolfpack are 2-6 against the spread in their latest 8 ACC games and 1-8 ATS in their last nine games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game.

North Carolina

The Tar Heels have covered the spread in four straight ACC games and in 17 of their last 24 Tuesday games.

Prediction:

I certainly can’t see N.C. State having the same struggles on offense like it did this weekend, but I also can’t see the Wolfpack scoring enough to keep up with the Tar Heels. UNC is very difficult to slow down. They already scored 90 points at N.C. State earlier this season and I think they could push for 100 tonight. The Tar Heels have covered in five of their last six against the Wolfpack and I think it will happen again today.

College Basketball Prediction: North Carolina -11
