The No. 3 Duke Blue Devils will be in action at 1 p.m. to renew a non-conference rivalry that has grown one-sided over the years. Duke will be at Madison Square Garden to face off with St. John’s, which has not beaten the Blue Devils in the last seven meetings.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Duke a 7-point favorite in the matchup. According to the latest trends, St. John’ is 2-0 against the spread versus the Blue Devils over the past three seasons.
Duke has only lost one contest this season and enters play at 19-1 overall, winners of four straight since a 66-61loss at Florida State on Jan. 12. The last victory for the Blue Devils was an 84-68 triumph at home over Boston College on Thursday.
Nolan Smith leads Duke in scoring at 20.5 points per game, while Kyle Singler puts in 17.8 points per game.
St. John’s, meanwhile, is wrapping up a brutal scheduling stretch with the game against Duke in which it has played eight consecutive games against ranked opponents. The Red Storm are 2-5 thus far during the stretch of games to drop to 11-8 on the season.
Dwight Hardy scores 14.5 points per game and Justin Brownlee tallies 13.2 ppg to lead St. Johns.
Two other top-25 games are on the schedule, one of which being the No. 25 Michigan State Spartans hosting the Indiana Hoosiers at 6:00PM EST. Michigan State is an 11-point favorite. No. 18 Washington is at Washington State for a 10:00PM EST start, with Washington listed as a 4-point favorite.
