Maryland vs. Northwestern Pick

After blowing a historic lead on Saturday, will Northwestern bounce back tonight when it hosts Maryland at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, this game is considered even, as both teams are listed with even odds to win the game. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 134.5 points. Tonight’s game will take place from Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois and air live on FS1.

Northwestern has lost three straight, including a 73-57 loss at Maryland on Feb. 10. The Wildcats are coming off a 65-60 loss to Michigan State on Saturday in which they led by 27 points at one point and then were held to 11 points in the second half. Northwestern is 15-13 overall, 6-9 in the Big Ten and 11-14 against the spread. The Cats are averaging 69 points per game this season while allowing 66.5 per contest. Bryant McIntosh is questionable for tonight’s game due to a shoulder injury. He is averaging 12.1 points and 5.2 assists per game this year. Scottie Lindsey is the team leader with 14.3 points per contest.

Maryland is coming off a 61-51 win over Rutgers on Saturday for its third straight home win. The Terps have lost eight of their nine road games this year and sit at 18-11 overall, 7-9 in the Big Ten and 14-10-1 against the spread. Maryland is averaging 74.1 points per game on offense while allowing 66.5 per contest. Anthony Cowan is leading Maryland with 15.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest. Kevin Huerter is adding 14.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest.

Bet on Maryland vs. Northwestern

Maryland has won six of the last seven meetings in this series, but the Terrapins have been just awful on the road this season. Along with a 1-8 record, their defense is allowing nearly 12 points more per game away from home. Northwestern was embarrassed on Saturday, but still showed it can play lights out basketball for 20 minutes against one of the best in the nation. I think the Wildcats bounce back tonight against a team that hasn’t shown any ability to win on the road. The public betting is siding with Maryland, but I think Northwestern grabs the win.
