PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing Clemson tonight. As of Sunday morning, the Clemson is getting 65 percent of the wagers on this game as a slight underdog against Auburn.
KEY INJURIES
Clemson has Donte Grantham on the injury report. He has been out since January with a knee injury. Grantham averaged 14.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for the Tigers. Auburn is without Anfernee McLemore due to an ankle injury. He averaged 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game prior to his injury in February.
BETTING STRATEGIES
Auburn grinded out a 62-58 win over Charleston in the first round of the tournament, but failed to cover a 9.5-point spread in the win. Clemson found its way past New Mexico State, picking up a 79-68 victory. The Aggies were a 3.5-point favorite.
The injuries to both teams have changed their capabilities, but Clemson seems to be playing better than Auburn right now. The Tigers have covered the spread in their last three and won four of their last six, with the two losses coming by a combined nine points.
Auburn has won just three of its last seven games and is 1-6 against the spread in those seven games. The Tigers just aren’t the same without McLemore and I think they will continue to have their struggles today. Their offense has scored 63 or less in its last two and that could happen again today against a solid Clemson defense. The Tigers are giving up just 65.9 per game.
