NCAA Predictions: Will Wichita State have letdown vs. Tulane? 2/21/18

Tulane vs. Wichita State Pick

Are the 12th-ranked Wichita State Shockers going to let their guard down following a big win over the weekend tonight when they host the Tulane Green Wave at 7:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Shockers are a 19.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 156.5 points. Wichita State opened as a 20.5-point favorite before it came down, while the over-under started at 156.

Bet Tonight’s NCAA Action

As of Wednesday afternoon, 63 percent of bets are siding with visiting Tulane. Online wager info also shows that 69 percent of bets coming on the over.

Wichita State is coming in on a sky high note as it ended previously sixth-ranked Cincinnati’s 39-game home winning streak with a 76-72 victory Sunday. The Shockers have won four in a row straight up and are 5-5 ATS in their last 10 contests. The over has hit seven straight times and is 7-3 ATS in the last 10. As for Tulane, it has dropped five in a row straight up including a 68-63 decision at home to Memphis its last game. The Green Wave are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games and the over-under is 5-5.

There are no recent head-to-head meetings of note in the series. My gut feeling is that after a huge win during the weekend, Wichita State is going to come in a bit lethargic in this one. At least long enough for Tulane to hang around, grow some confidence and stay within the number. Wichita State is 12-2 straight up at home this season, while Tulane is 2-6 on the road. While there is a huge home-court advantage, covering a 19.5-point spread is difficult against anyone. The Green Wave did get blown out 73-42 in their last road game at Houston, but has been more competitive most times out in tough venues. I’m taking the points with Tulane tonight.
