TCU vs. Georgia Tech Pick

Which team will come away with the NIT Tournament championship tonight when TCU takes on Georgia Tech at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, TCU is favored in tonight’s game, as the Horned Frogs are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Yellow Jackets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 133.5 points. This game will be played from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Georgia Tech is coming off a 76-61 win over Cal-State Bakersfield in the semifinals on Tuesday. They have obviously won four straight while covering the spread in their last five games. The Jackets are now 21-15 overall and 20-11 against the spread this season. Tech averages 67 points on offense while allowing 66.5 on defense. Over this cover streak, Tech averages 71 points per game on offense while allowing just 61.6. Josh Okogie is leading the team with 16.2 points per game while Ben Lammers add 14.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.

TCU is coming off a 68-53 win over Central Florida in the semifinals. The Horned Frogs have won four straight and covered the spread in their last three. They are now 23-15 overall and 18-18 against the spread on the season. TCU is averaging 74.2 points per game on offense while allowing 70.2 on defense this season. Over their last five games, the Horned Frogs average 75.4 points per game on offense while allowing 71.2 on defense. Vladimir Bordziansky has been leading the team with 13.9 points per game on offense while Kenrich Williams adds 11 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Bet on NIT Tournament

Of the two teams, I feel like TCU has had the more impressive road to the NIT finals. The Horned Frogs won at Iowa in OT, dominated Richmond and dominated Central Florida. Tech did beat Ole Miss and Indiana, but the Hoosiers were a mess. Their semifinal win came against an 8 seed in Bakersfield, so this is going to be a big jump in competition today. TCU should be able to match Tech’s defensive intensity and the Horned Frogs have more scoring options.

NIT TOURNAMENT PREDICTION: TCU -3.5
