North Carolina Tar Heels DFS Snapshot
R.J. Davis registered 30 points (8-17 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 9-10 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal in 45 minutes during Saturday’s 93-86 OT victory over Baylor. Davis was coming off three straight games scoring 10 or fewer points, but he came out of nowhere to lead the Tar Heels in this huge upset win. The 30-point output was a season-high mark for the point guard, and he’ll try to carry the momentum into the Sweet 16.
UCLA Bruins DFS Snapshot
Jaime Jaquez (ankle) took part in practice Thursday and is expected to be available Friday for UCLA’s Sweet 16 matchup with North Carolina, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times reports. After spraining his right ankle in UCLA’s Round of 32 win over St. Mary’s last weekend, Jaquez is being viewed as day-to-day in advance of Friday’s contest. His return to practice Thursday likely makes Jaquez closer to probable than questionable for the contest, but those considering using him in DFS lineups will still want to verify his status ahead of Friday’s 9:39 p.m. ET tipoff. Over the first two games of the NCAA tournament, the junior forward averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 33.5 minutes.
