Northwestern vs. Michigan – 3/10/16 Big Ten Tournament Picks and Predictions

Can Michigan get by Northwestern?

Michigan needs some wins in the Big Ten Tournament if it hopes to play in March Madness. Can the Wolverines start with a win over Northwestern today at Noon ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan is the slight favorite in this game, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -2.5 points against Northwestern today. The over/under total for the game has been set at 132 points. These two meet in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament and the game will take place from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Michigan is 20-11 on the season, 10-8 in Big Ten games, 3-1 on a neutral floor and 15-14 against the spread. Northwestern is 20-11 overall, 8-10 in the Big Ten, 1-1 on a neutral court and 14-13-1 against the spread. Michigan won the lone meeting this season, 72-63 at home back on Feb. 24.

Who does the public like in this game?

Michigan has been a bit of a wreck as of late, dropping four of their last five games. Northwestern has built a little momentum coming into this game, winning its last three games of the regular season. However, Northwestern’s wins came against the bottom of the conference and Michigan’s losses came against some of the best. The Wildcats are just 3-6-1 against the spread as an underdog this season while Michigan is 11-7 ATS as a favorite. The Wolverines tend to play well against the bad teams and should be able to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive today with a victory.
