NASHVILLE, TN (TheSpread) – The 2015 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament officially tips off on Wednesday night. Here is a look at the odds to win this event.
The Ohio Valley Tournament is an 8-team staggered format tournament. The top two seeds have a bye into Friday’s semifinals while the third and fourth seed are in the quarterfinals. Two games are played tonight with the winners advancing to the two quarterfinal games. The tournament runs from Wednesday-Saturday at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Murray State is the favorite to win this tournament, as it has odds of 5/7 to prevail. Other short odds to win are Eastern Kentucky (9/4) and Belmont (13/2).
Murray State is the top seed in the tournament after going 26-4 overall and 16-0 in Ohio Valley play. Murray State is a 15-time winner of this tournament, most of any program. It last won in 2012.
Eastern Kentucky is the No. 2 seed in this tournament after going 19-10 overall and 11-5 in conference play. EKU has won this tournament six times and is the defending champion.
Belmont is the third seed this week. It went 19-10 on the season and 11-5 in conference play. Belmont has won this tournament one time, which came in 2013.
