Ohio Game Notes
Ohio’s leading scorer is senior guard DeVon Baker. Baker is averaging 13.7 points per game through three contests for the Bobcats, and he’s shooting 50% from three-point range. Baker led all Ohio scorers in the Bobcats’ 88-74 loss to Detroit Mercy on Wednesday with 16 points on 6-9 shooting from the field. Ohio guards Miles Brown and Jaylin Hunter are both also averaging over 10 points per game on the season for the Bobcats.
Ohio’s leading rebounder is senior forward Dwight Wilson III. Wilson is averaging 11.7 rebounds per contest while also chipping in 10.7 points per game. Wilson has been efficient with his scoring thus far, making 52% of his shot attempts from the field. Ohio’s guards and Dwight Wilson III will likely determine if the Bobcats cover this game.
Michigan Game Notes
Michigan’s star player is 7’1” junior center Hunter Dickinson. Dickinson leads the Wolverines in scoring with 19.5 points per game and rebounding with 7.8 per game. The Virginia native is shooting 62.3% from the field and 75% from the free-throw line. Hunter Dickinson’s scoring has tailed off a little bit in the past few games as he’s only scored 25 combined points in Michigan’s last two contests, so he’ll try to get back on track Sunday.
The Wolverines’ second-leading scorer is 6’8” freshman guard Jett Howard. Howard is the son of Michigan head basketball coach Juwan Howard and the younger brother of Wolverines’ guard Jace Howard. Jett Howard is averaging 14.8 points per game and is shooting a sparkling 40.7% from beyond the arc this season. Howard and Hunter Dickinson will probably have to play like stars to cover the number against Ohio on Sunday.
Ohio vs. Michigan CBB Betting Trends
Michigan is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
The under is 5-1 in Ohio’s last 6 games following an outright loss.
The under is 10-3 in Ohio’s last 13 games against a team with a winning percentage over .600.
Ohio vs. Michigan CBB Prediction:
This is a tough spot for Michigan. It’s a Sunday night game at home against a team they’re supposed to beat handily. In the Wolverines’ last game they got blown out in Brooklyn by Arizona State 87-62. Four Sun Devils’ guards combined to score 67 points against the Wolverines in that game. Ohio has three different guards averaging over 10 points per game on their squad. I think Ohio’s guards can score enough to keep it relatively close and prevent a Michigan blowout. I’ll take the Bobcats and the points.
