Ole Miss playing well
Despite an 83-69 loss at home to LSU last week, Ole Miss has been playing well for a while, winning and covering the spread in nine of their last 10 games. The Rebels are 14-3 on the season, 4-1 in the SEC, 3-1 on the road, 15-2 against the spread and 10-7 with the under.
Miss has been pretty solid on offense this season, averaging 79.4 points per game while shooting 49.2 percent form the floor. Defensively, Ole Miss is giving up 68.1 points per game while shooting just 41.2 percent from the field. Breein Tyree is leading the team with 17.5 points per game while Terence Davis is adding 16.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
Alabama struggling
Alabama is coming off a 71-68 loss at Tennessee, which was a cover for the Tide. However, they still have lost three of their last four games. Bama is now 11-6 on the season, 2-3 in the SEC, 6-2 at home, 7-9-1 against the spread and 12-4 with the over.
The Crimson Tide are averaging 76 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45 percent from the field. Defensively, the Tide are allowing 72.4 points per game while opponents shoot 44.2 percent against them. Kira Lewis Jr. has been leading the team this season with 14.2 points per game while Donta Hall is adding 11.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Ole Miss
Ole Miss has covered the spread in six straight road games and in five of their last six SEC games.
Alabama
Alabama is 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight home games against a team with a winning record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games.
Prediction:
The Rebels seem to be legit. Despite the poor showing against LSU, Ole Miss still has wins at Mississippi State and at home against Auburn. There has been few spreads the Rebels haven’t covered this year and their offense definitely is superior to that of Bama’s. Alabama also has a questionable defense and if the Tide don’t show up on that side of the floor, it is going to be a long night. I expect a close game, but I will go with the Rebels to prevail again.
College Basketball Prediction: Ole Miss +1
