Ole Miss Rebels Game Notes
Rebels guard Sean Pedulla was excellent in his team’s 80-62 win over Queens University last Saturday. The Virginia Tech transfer recorded 25 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and a made three-pointer. Pedulla shot 9 of 14 from the floor and 6 of 7 from the foul line in the victory.
Ole Miss guard Matthew Murrell provided a spark off the bench in his team’s game last weekend. The senior from Memphis logged 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal, and 2 made three-pointers. Murrell is third on the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game this year.
Memphis Tigers Game Notes

Ole Miss vs. Memphis CBB Prediction:
Ole Miss is 11-1 straight up and ranked #16 in the country this season. That record is a bit misleading. The Rebels have played 1 ranked team all season. In that contest, Ole Miss lost to #13 Purdue 80-78 in a neutral-site showdown in San Diego. Another note about Ole Miss’s record, they’ve only played 1 true road game all season. The Rebs smoked Louisville on the road 86-63 on December 3rd at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals are 7-5 this season, so that’s not that impressive of a win to me.
Conversely, Memphis has been battle-tested so far this year. The Tigers are 2-1 straight up and 2-1 ATS against the three ranked teams they’ve faced so far, UConn, Auburn, and Clemson.
Since Penny Hardaway became Memphis’s head coach in 2018, the Tigers are 24-10 ATS against ranked teams and 52-33-1 ATS when playing an opponent on equal rest. The public is backing Ole Miss in this contest, but I’m not. I’m taking Memphis to win and cover at home in this one.
